As we approach the exciting year of 2024, the world of technology is buzzing with innovations and advancements. The 12 predictions on the technology aspect will change the future and be ready to adapt it
1. AI & GenAI:
Not just for 2024, but even before and till 2030 and above, AI will be with us, and it is now mandatory for firms to adopt this which is not just going to make things faster but also make life easier.
Now that GENAI has been added too, there is every advantage of making things faster and easier.
Having said this, do not get into the trap and everything and anything in life need not be AI and its substitutes
Remember, as I always say, the purpose of AI is not automation; it is intelligence with automation as a part of it.

2. 6G Networks:
We are already experiencing the best internet in different parts of the world, and the G series continues. I have seen the quality of the internet in villages and remote areas too. This is unstoppable, so get ready for mind-blowing speed and near-instantaneous connectivity with the arrival of 6G. Imagine downloading entire movies in seconds, experiencing seamless virtual reality without lag, and even controlling robots in real time from across the globe. 6G promises to revolutionize industries and redefine our interactions with the digital world.
3. Quantum Computing:
If you are keen to think a lot with your brain and experience the greater future, then think about quantum. It is a game-changing technology. The power of quantum mechanics to solve complex problems that are currently beyond the reach of even the most powerful classical computers. From drug discovery to materials science, quantum computing has the potential to unlock breakthroughs in various fields and accelerate scientific progress.
4. Smart(er) Devices:
Everything is a click away. Some of them have already adopted it and we will see it everywhere. Our devices are getting smarter and more intuitive than ever before. I strongly feel that smart homes will be a game changer as the choices are changing on a day-to-day basis, which is also needed. Just set it and your house is not just smarter but also safer. These advancements promise a more convenient and personalized living experience.
5. Datafication:
Datafication is a term that I loved which is nothing but your thoughts vs your results. Every aspect of our lives generates data, from our social media interactions to our health trackers. In 2024, companies will leverage this data more effectively to personalize their offerings, optimize operations, and gain valuable insights into consumer behaviour.
However, do not share everything. Self-awareness will be crucial.

6. Extended Reality (XR):
We are yet to experience the best and use it fully. XR is a great technology in entertainment and education. Come to the world of visual reality.
7. Digital Trust and Security:
2024 and above will be the future of what to trust and what not to. With different links and scams around the globe, do expect advancements in cybersecurity measures, blockchain technology for secure transactions, and even ethical AI frameworks to address concerns about bias and transparency.
8. 3D Printing:
I’ve been to a 3D printing workshop recently and saw a lab that does produce these products. This technology is rapidly evolving and also helping patients, making it possible to print everything from custom prosthetics to complex industrial components.
9. Genomics and Personalized Medicine:
I strongly believe that by 2030—even before—most of them would prefer a personal doctor. Doctors will be ready as the increasing needs and personalized suggestions as per individual will lead the future, which is also good.
Genomic sequencing is becoming increasingly affordable and accessible, paving the way for personalized medicine.
10. Robotic Process Automation (RPA):
RPAs with AI will evolve faster. Repetitive tasks will be increasingly automated by RPA, freeing up human workers for more creative and strategic roles. Businesses of all sizes will utilize RPA to streamline operations, boost productivity, and reduce costs.
11. Digital Twins:
Changes and demand will ensure that maintenance is set using a dedicated practice. Digital twin (DT) is one of those practices that works above virtual reality (VR). Digital twins can be used for predictive maintenance, optimizing operations, and even training personnel in a safe and simulated environment.

Sustainability goals will be a top priority in all parts of the world; the fight against climate change will be a top priority in 2024; and innovative energy solutions like fusion power, advanced solar panels, and efficient energy storage systems will take the top seat.
Do expect advancements in renewable energy technologies to make them more affordable and accessible, accelerating the transition to a sustainable future.
These are some of the exciting technologies in 2024; however, cloud computing is going to be everywhere, which might look costlier, but do consider the future. Not to forget, blockchain and fintech will play a major role too, and the world will be closely digitalized.
DATA will continue to be the most expensive asset ever.
DATA-centric decision-making will be a BYDEFAULT process in all sections of the world.
